Private House in Ekali

by Zege Architects

Details

A volume covered by strips of marble with two smaller ones on top of it create the two-storey residence in Ekali. The ground floor houses the sitting room that communicates with the garden and pool area through big openings. A tall panel of white lacquered wood plays the role of the staircase parapet – without any doubt the most characteristic element of the house, with its rigid geometry and sculptural form. Geothermal infrastructure, external insulation and elegant shade solutions such as the wooden blinds, add up to a residence exemplary of its bioclimatic design.
