In the center of Athens’ iconic Kolonaki district, a 1950s apartment has been transformed into a contemporary residence where heritage and modern design coexist effortlessly. Covering 220 sq.m, the project is defined by a sophisticated interplay of contrasts—light against dark, cool metallic tones against warm natural textures.
The design by Stage Design Office introduces a balanced palette: silver ceilings that subtly illuminate the interiors, black oak wall panels that anchor the space with depth, and warm wooden floors that soften the overall composition. Together, these elements create a cohesive atmosphere that feels both timeless and distinctly current.
Executed with precision by Building Trust Constructions, the reconstruction respects the apartment’s original character while reinterpreting it for modern living. Photographer George Messaritakis captures the home’s refined geometry and material richness, showcasing a space where elegance is achieved through restraint and thoughtful detail.
This revived Kolonaki apartment stands as a contemporary study in balance—an understated, harmonious blend of past and present.
