Tamburound

Details

A versatile armchair, designed for a dining room inspired by an informal, joyful lifestyle. Tamburound grew out of an idea formulated by British duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, to bring a dynamic piece of furniture into the home, one that would encourage interaction between dining companions. Also available as a seat without backrest, this creation is distinguished by the ingenious hidden mechanism that allows the components to revolve. Like satellites that rotate around a planet, the seat and backrest design two graceful orbits, carefully calibrated to ensure fluid, controlled movement that allows both elements to rotate 360°. In the armchair version, the rounded shapes of Tamburound are expanded, along with the dimensions of the sinuous post element
that connects the two satellites and supports the backrest. Made of cast aluminium, it is available in a number of colours. The Tamburound collection comes in a vast array of upholstery options, completely removable, thanks to a zipper. The armchair structure also reduces to a minimum the use of foamed elements, made of polyurethane with a percentage of polyols derived from biological sources, while the padding is made of recycled PET fibre wadding.
