Soft Stone

Designed by Gabriel Tan, the piece brings together clear geometry and an unexpectedly soft, organic presence. The system’s eleven modules reflect the asymmetrical structures the designer encountered in the park, as well as the sculptural sensibility found in the work of Isamu Noguchi – where solidity and softness exist in quiet tension. The Soft Stone Sofa is a modular sofa system that brings together architecture and comfort in a unique way. Inspired by the large, staggered stone blocks of Parque da Cidade in Porto, it combines clear geometry with an organically soft aesthetic. The asymmetrical modules create a wide range of configurations, tailored to the individual space, giving the sofa a sculptural presence that shifts with perspective. A carefully engineered upholstery construction ensures generous comfort, while selected fabrics enhance its soft design language and lend the sofa a warm, inviting character.
