The seemingly limiting and constraining specifications of this project were overcome and became a new source of information and inspiration for architect Yorgos Merlos, when he undertook the design of this chalet on the edge of mount Parnassos.
Thus, the datum of a nearly sectional house, made of Finnish timber on a base of local stone, with the obvious result of a totally stereotypical mountain lodge, was ingeniously overturned by Merlos’ final proposal. On the outside, the tiled roof and all wooden surfaces acquired their new black look, which became the main reference for the designing and decorating interventions in the interiors. The indoor spaces, divided by gypsum walls, are characterized by the emblematic presence of black logs – painted with a special tincture – and the overall feeling of a modern and sophisticated relaxation, of the highest aesthetic requirements.
