Alea

The Alea Chair is a chair designed by architect and designer Hannes Peer for SEM Milano as part of the Paesaggio collection (2021). Its design is based on the concept of deconstructing the essential elements of a chair, with the legs, seat, and backrest appearing visually independent, creating the illusion that they are floating and inviting the viewer to question how they are connected. The chair draws inspiration from the pursuit of purity in 1970s design and from the handcrafted woodworking tradition of Pierre Chapo, combining sculptural expression with functionality and comfort.
