SEM Milano
The CORE collection by SEM Milano, designed by Hannes Peer, represents a contemporary approach to sculptural furniture, where solid wood becomes both the primary structural and aesthetic element. Rather than being concealed beneath veneers or decorative finishes, the wood is carved directly to reveal its natural grain, texture, and strength. The collection includes dining tables, sideboards, cabinets, armchairs, occasional tables, and decorative bas-relief wall panels, all characterized by bold geometric carvings and architectural forms.
The design of the CORE collection draws inspiration from the work of designers and artists such as Pierre Chapo, Louise Nevelson, and Barbara Hepworth, combining sculptural expression with functionality. Its production integrates advanced CNC machining with meticulous hand-finishing, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and a unique character for every piece. The result is a collection that exists between art and industrial design, offering furniture with a strong sculptural presence, timeless aesthetics, and a deep appreciation for the authenticity and beauty of solid wood
