Designed by Mario Bellini, this bed stands out for its materials: the frame and legs are in saddle leather, warm and rich, the effect further enhanced by the stitching at the points where the various sections meet. The streamlined head-board, with its vertical line of stitching half-way across, is upholstered in a particularly fine leather, tanned using special techniques to make it extra soft and comfortable. The use of such advanced techniques on such thick materials serves to illustrate the many years of experience on which Cassina can call, and the exceptional level its craftsmen have achieved since the time of the original Cab chair. Cut using CNC machinery, the various leather sections then undergo fourteen discrete production stages, all by hand. The outcome can only be described as a masterpiece of manufacture.<\/p>\n
